You don’t need to know what exercises to do. You don’t need to plan your own workouts. And you definitely don’t need to wander around a gym hoping you’re doing it right.
At Livfit, every session is planned, coached and progressed for you.
You’ll train alongside a small group of members, with a maximum of six people per coach – giving you the attention of personal training with the support and energy of training with others.
Small group personal training sits somewhere between traditional one-to-one PT and a gym membership. You get the structure, coaching and progression you’d expect from personal training. You just don’t have to do it alone.
Everyone may be training at the same time, but that doesn’t mean everyone has to do exactly the same thing. Your coach knows your starting point, training history, goals and any limitations that need to be considered.
Someone beside you might have trained for two years. You might have trained for two weeks. Both can have a great session.
You arrive to find your coach has the session ready, and we’ll explain what you’re doing, demonstrate the exercises and help you choose the right level or weight for you. As you train, we’ll coach your technique, make adjustments where needed and track your progress, asking a little more of you as you get stronger and fitter. That’s progressive training, and it’s one of the biggest differences between simply exercising and actually being coached.
Every session gives you a workout that’s already planned, so there’s no deciding what to do when you arrive, along with expert coaching on technique and exercise selection throughout. We’ll adapt movements to suit your ability and circumstances, and progress weights and difficulty as you do. Your coaches get to know you and your training routine, and you’ll quickly get to know the people you train alongside too.
Strength training becomes increasingly important as we get older. We help you gradually build strength through squats, hinges, pushes, pulls, carries and other movements that transfer into everyday life. You don’t need to arrive knowing how to lift weights, we’ll teach you.
Being strong matters, but so does being able to climb the stairs, walk up a hill, play with the grandchildren or get through a busy day without feeling exhausted. Your training will also build your cardiovascular fitness and work capacity.
We want you to feel capable in your body. That means working on the mobility, control and movement confidence you need to train well and keep doing the things you enjoy outside the gym.
Your body at 45, 55 or 65 isn’t broken.
But your training probably shouldn’t look exactly like it did at 25.
Recovery matters. Technique matters. Strength matters. And consistency matters far more than trying to destroy yourself every workout.
Our job isn’t to make every session as hard as possible. Our job is to help you keep progressing.
This is the bit most gyms forget about.
Knowing what to do is only half the battle. Actually doing it week after week is where results come from.
That’s why your relationship with your coaches matters. We notice when you’re progressing. We notice when something doesn’t look right. And if your routine starts slipping, we don’t want you quietly disappearing for three months.
Our aim is to help training become something that fits into your life rather than something you constantly have to restart.
Every new Livfit member starts with an introductory programme designed to help us understand you and give you the best possible start.
You’ll meet us individually before training, establish your starting point and then begin fully coached small group personal training.
